5th December 2013: Last week Andrew Brons sent the following letter to the editor of the Daily Telegraph. The letter wasn't published.
So, Gerald Batten, UKIP MEP affects to be concerned about immigration (Daily Telegraph 26th November). Perhaps he should tell his leader, Nigel Farage, who said on the Daily Politics Show on 4th May 2010 that the United Kingdom should issue 250,000 work permits each year.
I see that Mr Batten describes himself as UKIP's spokesman on Immigration and Home Affairs. He is a full member, with voting rights, on the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs. However, I have seen him in that Committee no more than three times in the four years of this Parliament. I am only a reserve member of that Committee but I attend regularly and criticise the EU's immigration policies constantly.
Andrew Brons MEP (British Democratic Party).
