Labour and the Tories are responsible for the genocide in Iraq

ANDREW Brons has pledged to highlight the issue of human rights abuses in Iraq, in particular to the Shabak community.
The MEP for Yorkshire and the Humber was approached by the Human Rights Centre in Huddersfield and asked to intervene to prevent the genocide of ethnic minorities in Iraq.
The Centre claims that because of the invasion and subsequent civil war, life in Iraq is as bad now as it was at any time under Saddam Hussein with thousands of people forced to flee their homes in the Nineveh province to escape the bombing around the city of Mosul.
“The occupation and Iraqi authorities have shown themselves unable to protect these communities. Indeed there is a suspicion that some of those in Government welcome the elimination of minority groups from this disputed area. The Kurdish Regional Government forces which claim control over the area have proved themselves unable, and apparently unwilling, to provide protection to the Shabak and other minority communites,” the Centre says in its letter to Andrew.

Chris Beverley, the MEP’s constituency office manager, replied to the Human Rights Centre:
“Andrew Brons is sympathetic to the points that you have raised and agrees that the war waged on the Iraqi people by the Blair and Brown governments has been a disaster for the Iraqis as it has for many British families who have lost a son or daughter in the conflict.
“The British National Party opposed this war of aggression from the outset and we continue to oppose all foreign wars of aggression that are fought where no British interest are at stake.
“The genocide that is now taking place within in Iraq is the responsibility of both Labour and Conservative politicians at Westminster who voted for the invasion of Iraq which has brought about the current unstable situation in this country.
“Mr Brons will seek to highlight the issue where possible and to this end he would welcome any further information or briefing material to assist a presentation to the European Parliament.
