It's not just Alistair Darling that the Tories and UKIP want banned from O'Farrells
BRUSSELS: ANDREW Brons was the victim of a bizarre incident on Tuesday evening that could have far reaching repercussions within the European Parliament.
While Nick Griffin attended a debate to see who would be the next President of the Parliament, Andrew and a colleague popped into Fabian O’ Farrell’s, a cafe/bar just outside the Parliament building, for a bite to eat.
To the amazement of everyone there, they were refused service.
It later transpired that the barman had revealed to a journalist that the Tory and UKIP MEPs who have made the bar their regular haunt had warned the manager that if the BNP MEPs were served they would take their business elsewhere.
In Belgium discrimination against anyone for their political beliefs is against the law so news of the incident quickly spread around the Parliament. The furore prompted a statement from the head of the Legal Department who told Andrew that he was appalled by what had happened which was “unpleasant and wrong”.
The matter is now being investigated.[
